Treat

Good evening, friends. It’s the middle of the weekend..dogs are walked.., kids are fed. Time to relax with a treat. Nachos, tonight! Our version has salty artichoke flavored tortilla chips spread on a pan, then topped with tiny pieces of baby spinach. We then layer on homemade zesty red ripe tomato salsa, shredded cheeses with a combination of fine swiss , mozzarella and marble jack. Bake at 325 for about 4 minutes. Delizioso!

Fathers Day

A Happy Fathers Day to all out there who qualify! Fathers do so much..think about it..the stressful responsibility of providing for their little people. I’m sure alot of fathers feel unappreciated..kids sort of zip through the days not always saying thank you for the many things their father does for them..sometimes the moms forget too..but seeming to not forget to point out the things the father doesn’t do. The softly vicious cycle.. Children, no matter what your age, hug your father and tell him you love him. Oh yeah, and a foot massage will absolutely make his day!  Take care of yourselves, fathers..and enjoy your day.

The Leaf

There is a leaf whose stem is embedded in the painted cement bordering my kitchen window. The leaf has been there for years. It is pretty well intact considering the storms it has withstood. The slighest wind keeps it moving and swaying, giving it the appearance of peeking in the window and giving me a little wave hello.I do believe it is a maple leaf. That makes it all the more special. Maple …a beautiful wood that is harder to come by these days..in the furniture sense that is. It takes more than a century to grow a maple tree large enough to make a worthwhile harvest for furniture construction. I’m guessing that is why bamboo is all the rage. Grows fast, quick turnover..mass production. Go green!  Oh, sure…the almighty dollar..green.!     That’s all for this evening..goodnight, friends

Vintage Teacup Birdfeeder | Intimate Weddings
Searching for DIYs on the internet can become very uninspiring and samey. So when I come across something awesome I get super excited and just want to write ‘WILL YA LOOK AT THIS!!!!’, but I’m so much more classier than that, so instead I’ll say, ‘Oh my goodness me, this project is quite delightful wouldn’t you agree?’. Your birds will feel all sophisticated and such, and your neighbours will think you’re much more genteel than what your lawn ornaments reflect. So many great reasons to make this bird feeder, yes?

DIY Cheese Platter | The Pretty Blog
I’m not big into cheese but I know a lot of people who are and when I provide said cheese, I like to make it pretty. Cheese flags! Who wouldn’t want to eat cheese with a flag in it? And I totally love those name tags - great for those of us who just chuck the cheese on a plate without learning what it’s called.
‘Yeah, um… it’s um.. camembert… or um… blue…soft…cheese. And that one is the um… it’s got um… apricot in it… Just eat the damn cheese’

You are never dedicated to something you have complete confidence in. No one is fanatically shouting that the sun is going to rise tomorrow. They know it’s going to rise tomorrow. When people are fanatically dedicated to political or religious faiths or any other kinds of dogmas or goals, it’s always because these dogmas or goals are in doubt.
